Day 5. We are learning shapes. Make a game and practice at home! 1. Take a paper and a pencil. Make nine squares on the paper (3x3). 2. Get some soft sweets or snacks in different shapes (circles, squares, rectangles or triangles, whatever you have at home or can find at the store). (Do not send children to buy things from the shop by themselves!) Children with diabetes should neither eat sweets nor snacks. Mummy can cut some circles from cucumber and some squares from a sliced apple. (Keep the knife away from the children!) 3. Sort the shapes so that all the circles are together, all the squares are together and so on. 4. Let your child choose which shape he or she wants. Then play Tic Tac Toe together. Each person, in turns, puts one of his shapes on the paper. The first person to get three in a row is the winner and gets to eat the sweets or snacks. (Never leave a child unattended when eating!)
